BREAKING THE SPACE

1minute experimental dance video

"Breaking the Space" is a juxtaposition of different spaces and memories related to my childhood.
A stone house in the countryside full of play and laughter;
a lemon tree that was climbed by kids of three generations;
a balcony full of flowers where we used to sit in silence every evening surrounded by the perfume of jasmine tree.
a wooden oven to bake the best bread even tasted;
a vegetable garden and a chicken coop where nature celebrates its beauty.
A place which never will be the same without her.
Although empty of human presence, I can still wonder around and feel her presence warming my heart.
And when a dance starts the colours become more vivid and everything comes back to life

 "IN SIDE OUT":A triptych journey in search of a tension capable of restoring the fragmented nature of a “continuity constantly receding”.
A physical and emotional experience of entering the "unknown" where discomfort and risk shape each response to external or internal stimuli.
A process where music and movement are subject to a constant procedure of deconstruction and reconstruction.

The eyes are closed. I can't sleep. I can't sleep much. I can't sleep at all. Repeated as a loop. I am confused about the dialogues of others. I am confused about anything. The right side confuses me. Here, there aren't revolutions. Here there is confusion. There is nothing here but only confusion. There is nothing here. I can't sleep at all. It's a loop. Revolution becomes a loop.

THE LOFT (2015)

Often a loft represents the space where we store our past, books, artifacts, old toys, clothes, jewelry, and other treasures — but also the place where people can hide from the rest of the world.

Here, the two unseen creatures engage in a movement-dialogue, hidden safely  in a dusty, seldom-visited attic  in Berlin, while  the centre of the frame becomes a liminal space of interaction initiated by deep, little secrets. Under the dust and light, entering from a little window, they recall distorted and fragmented memories.

URBAN CONSTELLATIONS (2014)

How individual components work together as a system, turning those links between them into synergies?

"Urban constellations" is a video that explores the different relationships between urban space & body, movement & camera, color & time, inner rhythm & music revealing the hidden forces and common elements interconnected in one combination.

Five individuals - 1 musician, 3 dancers and 1 person behind a camera - perform at different sites a set of improvisations under different conditions/emotional states/situations. The camera is the there not only as an external eye witnessing what is happening but as a live component that influences, acts and reacts.
Video shooting and editing are considered as creative processes that reflect the emotional state of the person behind the camera/screen. At the end everything is interwoven with the minimal, repetitive and overlapping cello music becoming a whole instant system.
